    Paul gaugin.

His style is very much like Van Gogh's. They both belong to the impressionist or is it expressionist era?
I love the rich colours and the 3D effects created by their oil paints.

    I like most art. Especially:

Caspar David Friedrich ( awesome atmospherical landscapes )
Hieronymous Bosch ( so much to see on each painting... )
    Salvador Dali
    Leonardo da Vinci
Jean tinguely ( kinetic art - hilarious metal machines that squeak and move and do nothing useful )
    Jackson Pollock
    Architecture from 1.000 - 1.900 AD
    and lots more...

    Expressionist.

Expressionism developed from impressionism. Impressionists try to paint what they see, and expressionists do too but give their own turn to it with less accuracy but more atmosphere. The connecting factor is the distinguishable brush marks instead of smooth color-mixing as done in previous art forms.

I like Jim Dine a lot. He paints three things: bathrobes, skulls, and hearts. When I was a kid, I was terrified of one of the bathrobe paintings entitled "Cardinal". I now havea poster of that painting hanging in my room, and he's one of my favorite artists.

    Peace, Alex
