That sucks about the animals. Can't you guys compromise or something?

I've spent my day organising a trip with four friends to Wacken. We decided to go about a year and a half ago and we spent the day booking trains, hostels, checking german weed prices, and playing halo. Overall a fairly productive day.

honestly. i think it's a stupid reason to break up with someone. but, as a true animal lover. it may be the last fucking straw in this relationship.

if you don't think it's necessary to go get it checked out, watch it's poop for worms that might look like rice or string and get it back on a regular diet and observe it's bowel movements. if they are normal and firm, not bloody, etc. and it isn't acting wierd, lethargic, etc, you are probably fine. it's just that i would always recommend a vet's opinion.

go to a local shelter and ask for information on breed-specific rescues. they usually keep the dogs in their homes and with other dogs, cats, children, etc. this would be your best bet if you absolutely must have a purebred dog.

IMO mutts are the best. no negative personality flaws that purebred dogs have, and usually better health record. what kind of dog are you looking for?

Whoops - I had to edit this cuz you already posted. :)

    K, all sounds good.

And by no means do we need a purebred. I just figure since it is possible to search for rescue pets this way, that I will look and try, but the only dog I have had was a mutt. I just want a pet that is a good match with the family. And my two boys love big dogs. :)

Thanks for taking the time NP. I will keep an eye on him. If anything fishy comes up I will certainly take him to the vet. But will keep an eye on his poop. lol :)

I love mutts, lab mixes are my favorite.

vig, I know you love your man, but honestly... That seems really unfair and mean. I know animals are really important to you. can you really see yourself spending forever with someone who can't deal with them?? It's a deal-breaker for me, too. Big time. Because I love having pets... I love caring for them and watching them grow old, and if my partner didn't want that, I would seriously reconsider the relationship, because that kind of attitude means more than it would seem on the surface. But I agree you should do everything you can to reconcile your difference before jumping to extreme measures. anyway I'm sorry your puppy has to go :(

Sounds to me like someone who isn't mature enough to take care of his animals isn't mature enough to take care of his girl's emotional needs... A deal breaker in my opinion... I have an iguana, a lab, four ferrets, and two red tail boas, and I would never even think of getting rid of any of them, unless I felt I couldn't take care of them properly. Because of the fur is not a reason. Sounds like an excuse to me. And I don't trust people who don't love animals. Animals tell us alot about who we are. Good luck Vig.

vig choose your dogs, your boyfriend sounds like he's causing you a lot of grief.
today my Dad was made redundant. It is such a huge shock to the whole family. He has been working in his company for 35 years and was realli high up, it's just so horrible. He's handling it so well though, him and my mama are devoted evangelists christians and have complete faith which, in times like this. You see how faith can benefit you and the way we act/react.

I'm a grumpy old woman...I called the cops of the hooligan teenagers that have been partying next door all day/night. I talked to them 3 times, asking them nicely to be quiet, then I was mad & mean the last time I went out there, before I called the cops.
Why can't these kids go to bush parties, like I did when I was their age? Be loud & obnoxious far away from those of us trying to sleep...
