What I was saying is: there are no more options left...or the persons percieves there to be no more options left. In their mind the only option is: suicide. I imagine we feel a desire to find peace and resolutions to our problems. Imagine - like I say - you have no options? I appreciate two options are to do it or not do it. It could well be percieved as the easier option by people with the tools to solve their problems.
why should i care? the world is going to continue without skipping a beat. theres lots of things in this world i don't care about - and since the topic of POWs was brought up - thats another thing i dont' see a problem with. Its war, fucked up shit happens, and life moves on.
To the edit: It's still rather pragmatic. Your ethics, concerning your family (or dependents or whatever) are usually not built upon morality, but something much more internal and more primal than cannot be intellectualized. qft
Yeah, I never did get the whole "ethical war" thing of the modern world... especially since it's usually very one sided. (to use an example that's close to heart... militants get to target Israeli civilians without casualty while Israel gets bombarded with criticism everytime a family that houses a militant is killed together with the militant) War is war. It ain't pretty. If you don't want it, then avoid it.
You're right, but for human purposes (our inability to comprehend our own complexities and beyond), we just leave it at morality which is the backbone of ethics.
Neither do I care, not really...IF a family asked me if I cared about them having been left behind. But nobody asked me to care. That was what cofused me.
Yeah, sadly morality is completely ignored in practically all catastrophic human decisions, no matter how moral the person claims to be.
Double whammy. It's blind action. It's tough to judge people in the situation, because there is always a way to glorify or vilify it with the right words. No one is immune. I've admittedly fell victim to rash decisions (not suicide, but others) and will in the future as well. Not trying to justify anything.
Yeah, all in all... without the bullshit of my usual posts... people can do whatever the fuck they want. No one has the right to judge them. No one is better than them because of what they do or do not do and so on and forth. But judging is still fun.
Morality makes no sense because it is based on something outside of pleasure that guides peoples decisions. No matter what it is impossible to be outside of pleasure in any decision. Every decision ultimatly can be traced back to pleasure in some way shape or form. Take that Douche who said "Only a man takes cares of his problems, no excuses" QFT - if you get pleasure out of bieng a man. Every question, is in fact a reflection of an pleasure that you are trying to work out. Moral questions in this society, are simply left over religious fervor that is fucking useless, considering nothing is in the sky watching what we do....fuck and even if he was in the sky, what kind of benevolent douche would allow little kids to starve everyday, while he perfoms stupid little miracles for people in the west! OMG I found my cell fone - it must be a miracle! Douche bag westerners....lol Jokes, westerners are sick too. Big up to humans..
oh yeah, i sometimes forget that jews and muslims are very often in favor of killing off the other.... okay, so how about some other examples...
No. Not everything has to do with pleasure. Assuming so is extremely ignorant. Humans aren't exclusively driven by pleasure... otherwise we'd just jack off all day... to put it in very simplistic terms. Not if you'd say that humans are driven by inherent instinct, or emotions, then I'd be more likely to agree.
i'm considering getting fat so i can sit on rubin and snap his fragile pansy bones. then I can grind his bones to make my bread. that or Jewey Jello. The plan isn't finalized yet, but oh, would that trigger the sadism within!
