I've never burnt a hole through a brass screen. How are YOU smoking? o_O Though the steel screen are the best imo. Though I would never even attempt to use one with a glass pipe. Best way to lose weed ever, when it pops out from being touched in ANY way. And me, I like to play with my bowls so I get everything smoked.

I can't believe glass screens actually exist,. What a stupid fucking concept. Especially when the steel and brass ones work just fine.

Glass screens aren't like metal screens. The ones I've seen are like flatened flower pedals with a thin stem. So you put the stem part in the hole and the pedals are like, on top of the hole touching the bottom of the bowl... If that made any sense.

I always find screens, especially glass screens, to be a pain in the ass. It's so annoying to empty a bowl with a screen. Not a fan.

Plus why the hell would you need a screen for a bubbler. You wouldn't get one for a bong. The ash isn't going to leap out of the water and into your mouth. No one I know, nor myself, has ever gotten rockets/salad from my bubbler, maybe cause it's a double it's different, but I don't see how. And that bubbler is pretty cool, so don't downgrade it by putting a metal screen in it...

All this hate on the glass screens! I love those things for pipes with large holes. Why drop a bunch of money on a glass piece to use a metal screen? I've never ever broken one, it's not like they're hollow. The only problem is loosing them, but then again you can loose a metal screen as well.

    Mainly spliffs.

I had smoked a few dry pieces before, but I figured it was time to lay down some money on a real piece.
    It was a good choice.

I smoked it properly for the first time today, and I can take some pretty beastly tokes with this, haha.

I've only used glass screens a few times (they like to end up lost in my carpet somewhere) but I know there are are a few versions. I've seen them in star shapes (more like jacks maybe) with thin points coming out at different angles. Those looked like they might break but I haven't used them. The ones I usually use (just bought one yesterday) are like the ones in Micha's post ^ . They're thick enough that I don't see why they'd be much more likely to break than the pipe itself (especially the thin downstem of a bubbler).

I agree that if you spend the money on a glass piece it makes sense to use a glass screen to preserve the taste. In my case I never use them unless I have nothing but shake that'll get sucked down before I've extracted all the THC goodness. They're just a big hassle and bubblers are hard enough to ash already.

Oh, nevermind, that reminds me. I think metal screens are great for bubs because you can take them out along with all the ash and avoid wasting time on the confusing project of ashing the damn thing.

I paid 20 for 2 of my bubblers, though it looks to be smaller than yours. How tall is it?
    I like the colors

The tallest point is ~15cm tall, and the widest point is ~7cm wide.
