when the hair grows out, some of it has to move around, break off, and find it's place in the dreadlock. for some hair types, there might be an inch of root and some hair takes a few inches of growth. it will eventually dread. also i think you are talking about congos growing together they have to be ripped? some people rip them, some people don't... not sure if that's what you are asking other than that i have nothing to add besides don't worry about it.
Hey Daisy im 3 1/2 years into my dread journey and I still have loose hairs, some are really long and they do look like they have slipped out.I usually wait untill they are long enough.........as no matter how hard i try some never dread. And then get a large needle and thread the hair through and push into the middle of the dread and then weave back up so it wont slip out again. Ive tried beads but when Ive taken the bead off the hair is still the same underneath grrrrrr.Everyones dreads are different though are'nt they But on the root stuff...some dreads are really tight against my scalp and thers I have a loose inch or something like that,I generally leave them alone as Im pretty lazy, the tight ones used to really hurt but these days they have relaxed. I just thought Id tell you all this as Ive had my dreads for a while and wanted to let you know that they just kinda sort themselves out(apart from my dumb long strandy bits)
I had to rip a few dreads near the back because they were pulling and my scalp was getting irritated and loose hairs rule Dreads without loose hair is like beer without alchohol
the loose strands i have i just tie a knot in the end and in a few weeks they become baby dreads..or sometimes i tie a knot in the end then root flip em only a few times i know root flippings not good..when used to tighten roots..this u dont wanna do ight at all only say 3 or 4 times in ba 6 inch strand just to hold em together so they will dread on theyre oen and biut the rots...all root questions come down to this.. leave em alone and they sort themselves out
pat you have loads,i dont dislike them i just find them irritating when they get in my eyes...they are all on top of my head near my eyes grrrrrrrrr
yeah I have lots of loose hairs like that too, some of them have formed super thin mini dreads, some I've managed to join up with nearby locks. I kind of like how they look mix of locks and loose hair
Pat, my dreads do not look nearly as cool as yours, but I share the exact same amount of loose hair. Damn I wish I had the dread part too! lol (And for teh record, whenever i think of loose hair or frizz, I think of that pic of you. ) Thanks everyone. Such a helpful place when everyone feels like it. lol
