Had dreads about 3 weeks. New to the forum

I am new to this forum and I just was wanting to ask what to expect over the next few months. Also, how long did it take for your dreads to lock.

 

Expect a mess, but ride it out. All hair types lock differently. Check the stickies for great info and welcome!

which method did you use?

 

I don't have a camera at the moment but I will be getting one in the next couple of months and then I will post pics from then on. I have a few of like the first day or so but they are on my broken camera and it was one without a memory stick. I took it to the store and they told me there was nothing they could do. Bummer.

 

I backcombed them. I so wish I had a time machine but this process will teach me patience and understanding. I love my little dreads.

 

they will look like crap for awhile and then suddenly over night will start to look like dreads....mine are 9 months of mostly natural [I backcombed a few] and they are finally starting to look like dreadies. Its a long ass process! Its best to just forget you have hair for about 6 months!

 

expect them to look shit house.
