So this is sort of a stoned revelation. First off, am an agnostic, but one who is leaning on the whole Christianity thing being an absolute bs cult. One widespread idea about people back then, is that they would use marijuana, particularly by absorbing it into the skin via holy anointing oil. It is documented that Jesus used this oil, and would rub it on his followers at his sermon. I think the two most known "miracles" Jesus performed are turning water into wine, and making a blind man see. Now suppose people were really high, presumably (to them) because of Jesus's sermon, and they drink water, at it seems more refreshing, better tasting, and it also feels good. Now what if turning water into wine was sort of a metaphor for Jesus causing the water to taste better... I mean, that's not a long shot since even hard core religious people think some off the stuff in the bible is just symbolic. Also, Jesus was said to have made a blind man see. What if it was just some guy who was really depressed, never happy, an ass hole to everyone, and lets say didn't believe Jesus was a messiah. If Jesus used holy anointing oil on the guy (and its likely he did) maybe the guy had some spiritual revalation, turned his life around, and decide any man that can make you experience these things must be the son of god.
could be ... Could very well be. What's the point? besides those christian extremist crazy people, who said the bible should be taken in its literal sense... The fun thing about the bible is that it can mean so many different things, depending on who reads it.
