''Religious authorities often claim to be communicating with God. Religion is being misused on a massive scale. So let's trace God back to the ultimate origin and set things straight.

There's also an interesting case to be made about God vs Satan...

In the origin of meditation I explained how the oldest burial sites testify to an ancient sense of love and compassion - 35,000 years before writing was ever invented... Before religious concepts were ever invented and written down...

And before religious writings and 'communicating with God' became a way to justify conquests and conflicts....

But what is religion all about?

Religion can be defined as 'a cause, principle, or system of beliefs held to with ardor and faith' (quoted from Merriam-Webster). Anything backed up by a firm belief can thus be defined as a religion.

There's no need for evidence if we firmly believe, right? Right. To a certain extent. But when we rely on text books to tell us what to believe in, especially if it's just one - 1! - book designed to make us believe, things can turn ugly.

So let's apply a little evolution to the bible...''

I do not believe there is a god because there is no evidence to support the claim.

It also does not bother me that someone would disagree and claim that there was, what bothers me is that various people from nearly all cultural backgrounds claim that not only is there a god but that they have books that claim to understand what it's thought's and wishes supposedly are.

The arrogance of such a statement is beyond measure.

Well, if you read the full story, Mr. Rudenoodle, you'd see how God evolved within the minds of our ancient ancestors 35,000 years before writing was ever invented. Before the invention of any words such as 'God' and other religious concepts employed by monarchs and priests to justify conquests, controlling and killing people. God and Satan are not external, they've just been effectively used. By powerful human creators and designers.

 

Belief in God may be that old, but belief in Satan or something like him is not--even for the Hebrews. Along with Hell, the personification of absloute evil seems to be a Persian thing that infliltrated Judaism after the Babylonian captivity and the period of Persian influence. The talking snake, Lucifer, and the Adversary of God's heavenly court from earlier scripture seem to have been incorporated into this persona--giving the Abrahamic religion a new dualistic character.

 

gods true origin is within the mind. but the true living god jehova created that love concept we have learned to call god.
as humans we have no real idea of the creator, but because he is our creator he loved the world so that he gave his only begotten son to die for our sins.

its alot wrong with religions. before the devil became the opposer of god he was king anu the ruller of darkness. and once he was asked to assist in the making of humans he was told to bow before them in the garden of eden because they created in the image of god. but because of the devils discust in being thrown from heaven to the firary planet x he felt no reason to bow before something made of clay.

so king anu still needing to mine gold for his depleating atmosphere made the tree of knowlage so our dna would be manipulated in the knowing of god both lightness and darkness.

the devil started his army of now human hybrids for his destroy.

since he junked our dna dont you think hes gonna stick around to watch in action the harvoc he reaped. he then brought more evil spirits to bed the wives of man so that they would be a powerful race over homo sapians. but god flooded them and only 13 bloodlines survived. these 13 are the rullers of the world. they made money and relgion . relgion as a gold mining game. because if your humble youll be willing to give up your gold for king anu atmosphere. but the devil didnt know this is the time god was ready to raise the dead and end darkness.

I think I understand now where you're coming from: the Annunaki legend mixed in with pseudo-Christian theology. Have you read Zecharia Sitchin's The Earth Chronicles? Great sci-fi, except the author claims it's real and based on actual extraterrestrial contacts recorded in the Enuma Elish and ancient Sumerian writings. Now that more people can read Sumerian, we can see that his translations were off, and scientists think his cosmological theories are a crock. But hey, the Scientologists and Raelians are going strong on the basis of claims that are no more farfetched.
