i've said this in like 20 threads. My actual locks don't absorb water. Only the undreaded parts near the roots get wet.

I know a few people who's locks don't abosrb water. All used the neglect method

    hmm
what about if you go swimming or soak them in a bath (though i cant really see you taking baths)? surely water seeps in eventually in that case..

so your locks dont get very heavy when you wash them?

Mine kill my neck when I headbang. Makes me want to comb them out. After the last show I went to my neck was sore for 2 weeks

Dang, sore for 2 weeks, that would suck i bet...
What is more important to you though, your locks, or headbanging?

Its strange the way locks feel tighter soem days then others. Take today for example, mine feel really tight and knotty, and look knotty as hell, yet yesterday in comparison they felt really light and soft, almostfeathery. I much prefer how they feel today in comparison though.

Thankyou for all your replies so far :)

sometimes i feel like the parts of mine that are locked (towards the roots) don't absorbs water because well...physics? like there are so many places for the water to go that it just collects at the tips where it is easier hang on?????

Do dreads reach maturity? Maybe it's because of my hair because they always felt tight to me.

From what i know, dreads do reach maturity, im pretty sure Pat__ and SE have nice tight mature dreads, a few of mine feel tight as hell, but theyre mainly at the back of my head where i sleep on them so i guess that makes sense. I just gotta give em time i spose

Don't believe Pat, he likes to lie about how mature he and his "locks" are.

lol the relevance of bringing metal into this?

    I will be irrelevant aswell

IMO it's lame you only met your gf of two years twice and for a total of maybe 2 weeks.

this kinda happens to me, my dreads dont hold water the way the undreaded hair does, it makes drying really easy
