OMG!!! Do you know what that is??? i do!!! i have it!!! It's from not exercising your legs in a certain manner ~ lifting them out to the sides of your body. i forget the name of the muscle that is, but i'll look it up. Do they actually have MEDS for that??? "Uh, Doc, i'm too lazy to exercise and/or no one has mentioned that i COULD exercise it away, so... Watcha got 4 me?" HOLY MACKEREL!!!
I have restless leg syndrome occasionally. Seems to happen after I've spent part of the day at a beach doing swimming and walking in the sand. Not sure why. It's as if everything got stimulated and doesn't want to settle down. I can manage. I don't care to take a prescription for it. .
Okay, here we go: See how the Gluteus Maximus has that little strip down the side? THAT's the muscle! Oh! Thanx, Shag!!! That's RIGHT! If you've USED it, when you're not used to using it, it will need massage therapy, which you can actually do for yourself!
From the front, the muscles involved would be the Rectus Femoris and the Vastus Lateralis: Hope this helps!!!
Oh, it IS! Walking in sand allows your weight to sink your heels lower than usual ~ do you walk with a heel-strike, on the ball of your foot, or on the toe? Seems like runners would use sand to strengthen certain muscles...
That'll do it. We really should look up Running sites... but i need to clean my bonganika... {hint, hint }
I noticed one thing. I used to get sore thighs in the spring when I became more physically active in warmer weather when I used to wear stiff shoes a lot. Since I started going barefoot a lot, the muscle tone in my legs has improved. I no longer get sore thighs any time of the year. I like walking in sand because it also improves the muscle tone in my legs. So, I guess I got rid of the sore thighs but I now have a little restless leg stuff. .
Massage, dude, Massage! Surely there's a Massage Forum??? But, for real ~ YOU can massage the muscles with a Shower Massage Hand-held shower head. Rub on some mentholatum (Vick's), then use the hottest water you can stand. It won't take long before you'll feel yourself melting into the tub. (The Japanese have all of this down to an ART in their bath-houses! TOO Fab!)
Ditto on that, too. Although I think it's a sub-syndrome of DCU which is also known as the Dumb **** Upstairs disease.
My natural biological clock used to be night-owlish. The older I get, the more I naturally fall into early to bed, early to rise sleeping patterns and feel great.
