Yeah, I heard about this. They still do not confirm they used it on civilians and deny it of course; I heard a journalist on the radio the other day trying to speak about the skin burns on children and civilians that she witnessed while interviewing them, but no one was able to corroborate the story that it was in fact white phosphorous.

But we know what it is.

America is shit at tracking it's logistics, one abandoned truck with flares, boom, you've just given the taliban a fuck ton of chemical weapons. also, just using it as it's "supposed" (allowed) to be used is dangerous, and we're talking about a small number of people, so it is VERY possible that shit just went wrong

and, of course, the cynical, sinister possibility that the AP's press people, and I suspect based on your framing statements PR suggest, you would like to suggest.

that it was done, intentionally, by u.s. soldiers.

in any of these three scenarios there is culpability to be had by the u.s. it's armed forces, it's commanders, and most importantly, it's commander in chief.

so, regardless, this shouldn't have happened, but it's not always some sinister fucking plot

    sometimes people are just incompetent.

So if they had been injured by high explosive rounds everything would have been OK?

Burning them to a crisp with flamethrowers and then taking pictures for mom is also acceptable :).
