    London Anarchist Bookfair 2004

Saturday 27 November 2004, ULU, Mallet Street, London. 10am-7pm

Last years Bookfair was a huge success in our new venue. With more stalls, more meetings and more people than ever before, it was the largest anarchist gathering in the world last year. We covered our costs thanks to donations, and the coming Bookfair will also be held at ULU.

I might go along if just for the chance to see some free films. I don't agree with the anarchist way of organising though which is informal and unco-ordinated. As one anti-capitalist said, if the capitalists are highly organised and disciplined then we need to be highly organised and disciplined aswell to defeat them.

Well that's like agreeing with the saying "fight fire with fire" ... It can't be done. You have to fight fire with water, earth or some other different substance.

Adding fire to fire will only make more fire.

The thing that I hate mst about the anarchist bookfair is that the food on sale there is so damned expensive. I think its £1:50 for a vegieburger or something like that. It would be cheaper to bring your own food.

£1.50 for a veggiburger? I think that's really good actually. You should have seen the price of things at the ESF. £1.50 for a small portion of chips? From a capitalist burger van. Which was also selling coca cola.

At least it's vegetarian (probably vegan too) and most likely organic and fair trade.

    £1.50 isn't bad.

The food on sale at the Star Wars events was pretty expensive, but absolutely gorgeous! The vegan sausages rolls were so nice I had 3:eek:

So is fresh fruit and vegetables from the local supermarket! The other day I bought some bananas, apples, tomatoes, cellery and carrots, and it only cost me £1:80 and whats more it really filled me up. They are very low in salt too unlike processed food including many vegetarian meals. Veggieburgers still leave you starving hungry as they are such tiny meals.
