Do you do yoga daily? I wish I could back on track, actually I haven't been to a yoga class in months, and used to go 4-5 times a week. This needs to change, because I felt so much healthier when I did it regularly. How often do you practice yoga?
I think you should get back into the 4-5 times per week routine - I normally do this amount myself - but I know some who do this every day... see what feels right to you and if you feel you could do with more, up it to 5-6 times per week.... Good luck!
i usually do 3-4 times a week, but it tends to be more especially when i feel myself getting overwhelmed with things.
Early morning, just before sunrise, like about 4 am. It is called brahmamuhurtam in the Hindu tradition. That's usually when the world quietest, the latest of the late sleepers are in bed. You're not likely to get phone calls and visitors. There's nothing good on TV. No distractions. Also, in India, it is a time when a lot of yogis and masters meditate, so that collective energy is very strong at that hour.
I don't understand this part. 4 am where I live is 4:30 pm in India. Does this energy get sent out at the speed of time so that it makes its way to wherever someone is at exactly 4 am their time? Or should we time our meditation to coincide with 4 am India time in order to pick up this energy? Or should we wait a few minutes for the energy to make its way to where we are (use speed of light)? Or is there another alternative that I'm missing? Thanks!
That was an India specific thing. Obviously it would not really affect you in America. By energy I don't mean like electricity or light or magnetism. I mean a collective presence. So it's like meditating in your bedroom alone versus meditating with very advanced practitioners or masters. There's a different quality to it. But anyway, the early morning is a preferred time. Here's another reason: Our minds are subtly influenced by the emotions and thoughts of those around us. And at that early hour most people are sleeping, so the subtle disturbance of other people's energies are also at a minimum and so it is a more peaceful time. But all theory aside... Early in the morning, with a mind fresh from sleep, after a quick shower, when you sit with the sunrise, listen to the birds waking up... There's a magical quality to it. The world is at its lovliest in the morning. Everything is fresh and beautiful. Such an atmosphere is naturally conducive to meditation.
