Yay it's my "Hey bird" t-shirt! lol

Before dreading, my hair was the sort that went into crazy frizz at the slightest hint of moisture in the air, and after washing would dry into wavy curly bits which would then just come out again when brushed. I used to hate going into a steamy bathroom coz it always messed my hair up, and any time I wanted to go out in the evening with my hair down, it would start off straight and tidy and come home all frizzed and sitting all wrong along my hairline.

Wish someone had told me about dreads a looooong time ago

Method? Um.. nothing. I just never did anything until they started getting massively thick and I ripped them apart. I used to get dreads all the time and then I finally stood up to society and stopped letting them put lye in my hair... and they just grew.

 

hell yes! good for you. you should stick around. we need more people on here with experience in african type hair. i don't have it, but i often find myself dispelling myths about african type hair and locks.

 

I'd like to stick around. I get people all the time asking me if my locks are real.
