Is it true that anything other than white walls can overstimulate a certain part of the baby's brain?
I wanted to paint the walls mint green (add blue if it's a boy, lavender if it's a girl). But then Andy brought up teh needing white walls with colorful developmental objects instead of walls?
    Is this true?
By the way, I'm not pregnant. ia m just a planner.

I think mint green would be soothing. Andy says it is also soothing for people at mental institutions.
What do you guys think about mint green?
Andy's usually always right, but I don;t think he is on this one.
Plus, I have horded about 20 yards of gender neutral fabric for our future child that goes with mint green and it's discountinued, so I can't get it in another color.
It's the Heather Ross Dog Park and the Amy Butler Lotus Moon Dots.

I have always heard bright contrasting colors are better for eye development or something.. but yeah pastels are more soothing.

I would actually love to do blue and that would go with the fabric better. Is that okay even if it turns out to be a girl (we are 90 percent sure it will be a girl because of the radiation Andy's exposed to around the nukes)? Is blue still taboo for girls?

I've never heard that before. I have however heard that bold colors are more stimulating to the brain in a positive way and that babies seem to prefer those hues. But I wasn't one to want to decorate the room that way. I did however hang a mobile up with black, white, and red patterns. :)

That being said, I decorated our first baby's nursery in a pale yellow with a contrasting deep aqua. The bottom half of the wall was painted the aqua, the top half, the yellow, and a border seperating the two. The theme was ocean-like. Cute little sea critters, big happy smiling suns, moons and stars above the waves.

Would I do a blue room for a girl? Probably not, but you know, you could do a blue color and just feminize it up a bunch.

Mint green tends to be yellow based. Perhaps a blue-based green would be softer on the eyes. Lavender or blue would still work as accent colors.

Leave the baby in an old refrigerator box.

Brown is very soothing, and they will learn to read while their in there!

Babies can't see very well at first, so I doubt colour is going to bother them.

I'd paint it bright friggin' green, because I wouldn't be expecting a girl, I'd be expecting a little bundle of mutated joy. Your baby's gonna glow! Hehehehe, just kidding.

hahaaaaaaaaa. I have to quit the pot ): I'm getting these little under the tongue THC pills and titrating myself down.
I love pot Amanda. It's sad that that has to change for 9 months plus breast feeding.
