Ok well i've been doing breathing meditation and trataka for about a month now and i definitely notice myself being more calm mentally. I may spend 15 minutes meditating once or twice a day and trataka 15 minutes a day by staring at a black dot and after doing either one i may feel a glimpse of my true self shining through for maybe 20 minutes--this is really noticed when i am around people which is the reason i started all this since i am an awkard guy socially like someone who won't say a word to anyone. i begin to notice that maybe the reason i am like this is because my attention is there yet i am consciously not there. The reason i am writing this is that after either exercise i notice the effects are minimal and that having to go talk to people again i cannot do it unless i drink a lot. actually i don't even talk to people when i drink but it is more pleasant than usual for me to be around them. any advice on how i can maximize the benefits of both exercises and if there is anything i can do to lessen my awkardness with people and learning to say something to someone. times i feel i am not really there until someething inside tells me i am. after trataka i feel absolutely happy with myself if it is a great session and sometimes can conquer the world but later this dissipates.
I think you just need to push yourself to do it, I'm not sure if meditation will help... you could always try. I had really bad SAD, the way I got over it was to push past and just do it. Don't think about 'what if I say something stupid' or go into deep though before you do it...
Free audio meditation Ive tried many audio meditation enhancement techniques and have combined several into these powerful meditations. With subtle stereo theta wave inducing Binaural Beats and set to base Solfeggio Frequencies , along with digital stereo live nature recordings and rich deep synthesized tracks - and enhanced with digital sound loops and effects. I hope you enjoy these as much as i do - i use these meditations daily and find them a wonderful way to encourage the mind to relax and the spirit to find peace. http://codedimensions.com/satorisnd - Listen for free - Enjoy
To see the benefits of meditation, find one that you love... but be patient. It may take a couple of months before being obvious. But it can only get better, it will get better if you love to meditate. Find what makes you feel awkward in the company of others, meditate on it. Try to understand it BEFORE attempting to change it. Also meditate on what you actually like in people. It's even more important. If there is one thing I beleive, it's that you have to be well in your skin to feel comfortable around people. Accept yourself. Good luck
