This was originally a guide I decided to write for a friend, but I decided to post it here in case somebody else was having troubles. I know there are a lot of people out in the world who would like to feel the peace and calm of meditation, but don't know how. It is a rough and rocky start to meditate properly, but with persistence you can get it just right to where you feel the ultimate calm and become one with your inner mind. For starters, find a good place to do it. Try to have your set in a dark room, where there will be no interruptions. Find somewhere to sit that is relaxing, yet not comfortable enough to put you to sleep. Wherever you decide to sit, keep your back straight to keep your mind sharp, yet relaxed. If you do have to lay down, make SURE you are in a current state where you will not doze off (i.e. the middle of the day). Once you are in your position in which you want to meditate, either close your eyes or stare at a steady repetitive object (such as the flame of a candle). Start to breathe using only your nose. Focus only on the pattern of your breathing, and nothing else. It will be natural once in a calm state for the mind to wander, just direct your focus back to your breathing. Continue this for a steady amount of time. Throughout the duration of your meditation, you might start to feel jumpy. Just remember when this happens that you are aiming for an extreme calm, and then revert your focus back to your breathing. After a certain amount of time, depending on how long it takes you to find the calm, you might get a tingly feeling in your hands as well as more awareness of the functions of the body. Depending on the person, you might feel the rush of blood with every heartbeat or the surge of your nerves every time you slightly move your hand. If you are using meditation for LOA, then now is the time to envision your desires. Your body is now used to the process, and you can revert your thoughts to other things. Keep these thoughts calm and clear though. Focus in on one specific thing you desire and don't let your mind get crowded. Congratulations! You have learned the steps to basic meditation! After some experience, you will get more used to the process and your meditations will be more vivid and calming. I hope everything works out well!
Thank you for these tips. I've just started to meditate (or tried to start lol) and I really don't know how to do it. I'm very gratefull for every help I can get.

LOA stands for Law of Abundance, which states that there is enough of everything for everybody. If you have lack of anything, it's your state of mind that is perceiving that lack. The lack does not really exist.
I thought it was law of attraction in this case, although I don't "use" either so I don't know. Good guide for beginners though.
