What exactly did this guy do to you? I could simply say 'the past is the past' but some pasts are harder to leave behind than others, and for different reasons.
Tell him that, why should you let go of what you want. You have nothing to loose and alot to gain, its worth a try and it will help you have a much stronger relationship in the future if you suceed in showing him your innocence. Plus Im sure he has a fuking problem from the past, we all do. Dont listen to that guy, he's just bitter...probally about something that happened in the...wait dont say it...haha.
Er...simple fucking solution to this problem is... GO WIN HIM BACK DUH! -_- Nothing's stopping you...go give him a ring, or email or see him in person, tell him your problems and ask for a second chance.
