I found this article to be rather interesting, and indeed it makes many relevant and accurate points (despite some grammatical and spelling errors). Ironic, considering that Pravda was once the official organ of the Communist Party in Russia, and is still considered by some to be a pro-communist propaganda rag.

The homophobia is a nice touch.

Pravda online is just an outlet for Russian nationalism and anti-Americanism these days.

    They are.

Really, if you can't tell the difference its a shame you weren't born in North Korea. Freedom is wasted on you.

So, how much time have you spent in North Korea or Soviet Russia?

Ooooo. The communists are going to eat your children. I find Pravda more informative than a lot of your mainstream news sources. It's somewhere in between The New York Post and The New York Times in content quantity, but rather less ideological than The Post.

Actually I have been to some oppressive states. I've been to China (actually lived there for a while) and a few dictatorships.

    How about you?

I haven't done too much traveling yet.

My Father grew up in Soviet Russia, and he and my Grandmother have told me a lot about it.

    He lives in Ukraine now.

Unlucky them to live through it. Lucky you to have such a great source to learn about the history.

I've been all over Ukraine and most of Eastern Europe and met a lot of people who lived through that period. Of course the people I meet tend to be young and have a much more negative view of the previous era.
Not the ones I visited. I don't see the relevance though.

I gotta say that's a pretty ridiculous article. Russia blaming us for marxism? Correct me if i'm wrong but didn't we almost blow the fuck out of the entire world because they liked communism and we didn't? Didn't we invade a whole buncha countries because we don't like communism? Sounds like a fat sack of Orwellian bullshit to me.

While i won't disagree that Obama is thoroughly going to fuck the way we do business (which peeves me as I intend to become a businessman), I don't think you can quite forsee whether or not we'll end up like the weimar republic.

Just a funny little thing i noticed, I haven't heard "weimar republic" since AP US History, do you think my Russians are a little better with world history than we are? Because 90% of people I know would have NO idea wtf the Weimar republic is. Just an observation.

Good article. A bit of a twisted perspective, being that PRAVDA was the soviet state rag pre-collapse. Sad thing is, they are probably more reliable than CNN or Fox these days

You all act like Marxism, REAL Marxism is a horrible thing.

Of course it doesn't, hasn't and never will exist.

If by horrible you mean immoral? Than, yes, it is a horrible thing. But that's only because I believe that voluntary association and free contract is the only plausible basis for a morally based, free society. If you don't believe this, than, well, I guess you can say that Marxism is just.

Voluntary association? Where do you live? What happens if you don't believe in the laws of your country (or any other)? What if you decide to VOLUNTARILY decide to not follow them? What if you decide what is best for you is civil disobedience?

There is nothing about VOLUNTARY ASSOCIATION in any country. You either accept and follow the rules where you are born, or you move to a different NON-VOLUNTARY ASSOCIATION (that may be worse or better then where you came from), or you end up in being in JAIL or DEAD. No ifs, ands or buts. Communism is bad IMO, and so is Capitalism IMO, but the one thing I know is that there is no VOLUNTARY ASSOCIATION anywhere. It is all just propaganda by the the leaders to FORCE you to accept the constantly changing status-quo as law and follow along as good puppets should.
