can i my cacti be saved????

    hello all,
    i have some problems with my cacti. can someone tell me if they can be saved? the tops snapped off and turned kinda brownish. a little pup is coming out of the side on the tips.

    and when it fell it snapped one in the middle. someone told me it will mend itself but ide rather find out from u wonderful people on the hip forums. lol

    i dont see why not.. cactus is a survivor for sure. i would maybe re plant the broken/seperated pieces in a seperate pot, turning 1 broken cacti into two

    they grow new roots fast

    The tops look fine, although I think it looks like they are not getting enough light. The one with the crack in the middle, I can't tell from the picture how deep it is. It looks healed so it should be ok unless its really deep and a risk of breaking completely.

    yeah they have been dormant for months...but now they are outside in the sun. idk its pretty deep but its holding up. think it will be ok/??

    it will heal itself. cacti is a determined plant. if the cuts not deep then leave it but if its really broken u can *safely* remove the top & plant it as a new cactus.

    can i take ther cutting and just put it in cactus soil?

    You have to let the cut end callous over first or it will probably rot. Good way to do that is to put it somewhere dry and out of direct sunlight for a couple weeks, then plant in soil but do not water for a couple more weeks. Water, then don't water for another 2 to 4 weeks.
