for a few days i've had a persistent odd pain in my chest, just barley left of center. if i breathe deeply or move the wrong way or even lay down funny, it hurts pretty bad. but its always there, just not too noticeable when these things aren't making it hurt worse. i certainly don't know whats caused it, but i hope its nothing serious. the university health center is closed for the weekends, so i'm gonna try and go down there monday if i'm not feeling better.
never had an ulcer that i was aware of, but i only have a vague idea of what an ulcer is, anyway. never heard of them anywhere but in the stomach, really. and this is chest pain, not in the belly. i do suspect it is somehow smoking related. but trying not to worry myself on that issue for now.
i know what you mean about weird random pains..if im laying down and i get up too fast i get pains in my hip area to the left side.... thenagain my brother does hit me a lot.... i ont know if a doctor would do anything... i know mine wouldn't, but if your in america then maybe. dtors their wantyour money... apprently
It could be an esophagus ulcer... they haven pretty much everywhere. I had one once... and well... my life sucked balls for a month or two. Felt just like chest pain... slightly on the left side. I did get it by eating a very unhealthy diet and drinking way too much red wine, eating a steak full of vinegar, and drinking a 12 pack of coke on the same day.
that doesnt sound good, i think if you can afford going to the doctor you should probably go. i get pains in my chest a lot too, i think its from smoking too much though.
It's not like you really need a doctor. They're just gonna guess logically, unless they perform expensive and probably unnecessary tests. Use the internetz. If I were you I'd try to change your diet to see what happens. Eliminate unhealthy e stuff, acid stuff, eat more fiber. Take a couple of different meds for different conditions and see if any of them relieve the symptoms. I dunno, doctors are just the last case scenario with me. (only if I KNOW that I need a prescription)
Rubin is probably right ~ it sounds like gas or an ulcer in your esogaphus. HOWEVER: Feel your pulse and see if your heart is beating steadily, with rhythmatic contractions. (You can do it just by being still and listening to your insides) Are you short of breath? Do you feel light-headed/dizzy? Are you sick to your stomach? Are you sweating, even though you feel comfortable? Those are 4 of the signs of heart attack, so if you're answering Yes to them, GO TO THE HOSPITAL, IMMEDIATELY, okay?
the 'hurt when you breath" made me thin rib pain- google brought me this http://www.webmd.com/pain-management/costochondritis?page=2 Wouldn't an ulcer hurt more with eating than breathing?
