i would definitely look into Tempeh.. if you are against Tofu.. Tempeh is a fermented whole soy bean product.. that is molded into brick form and used like Tofu.. better flavor and more nutrients than tofu as well
I hate the word fermented lol.Everytime you wanna eat some meat just remind yourself that you are eating death.lol jk...kinda Do you have a Trader Joes near where ya live? They're really affordable.
I pretty much love and enjoy all foods, thats not going to change. I've recently discovered the joys of cooking, so I'm not about to limit myself
Ari! That's great! I've been wanting to go vegetarian for awhile now.. Just didn't have the willpower to do it and all that. I might try again this summer. Good luck!
If I were you, I'd give Boca Burgers a look. They're purdy tasty, and they're also beneficial as far as health goes.
Not even at major grocery stores? They jack up the prices so much though. For 4 veggie burgers it's $5.59 and at Trader Joes its a little over $2.
Yeah, Morningstar is really good too. It's more vegetable-oriented. The Boca Burgers taste a lot like real hamburgers, so people [like me] who enjoy the taste of meat are still getting the flavor without any of the crap that goes with it. Get the American Flame-grilled boca burgers if possible. They're wayyyyy tastier than just the normal ones.
At wal mart and stuff they have barely anything vegetarian. ill have to check out other super markets and see what i can find.
I'll have to try it on when I go grocery shopping on Monday then. The Morningstar grillers are the same too. They have vegan grillers and classic grillers.I bought this asian spicy kind last week and it' so freain delicious.
You do not need to eat special food to go vegetarian. Combine one part beans to three parts grains, or one part beans to one part nuts or seeds. It is as simple as that. Think of the traditional foods that are like that. Succotash combines lima beans with corn. Southerners like to combine black eyed peas with corn bread. New Englanders combine baked beans with brown bread. Mexicans combine corn, beans, and rice. East Indians combine wheat, rice, lentils, and garbanzo beans. Chinese combine rice and tofu. In the Near East they combine wheat, barley, lentils, garbanzo beans, and broad beans.
go veg! you'll feel better, you'll see ah, i went to my mum for lunch today.. and after years of conflict ab my meals, she invented and made me some awesome veggie version of some trad-meat stuff she made for the rest of the family... i was so happy) and she was happy i was happy isnt she awesome?
i tried it for a week and i realised how much meat there is in like everything lol. Plain pasta gets boring, meat is too tasty to stop.
Vegetarians are fucking odd, additives in meat isnt an excuse either. Well unless your living in a city and dont know where your meat is coming from. I buy from butchers and the meat can be traced back to the exact cow. Clonakilty is pretty famous for its black pudding though and its pork in general actually
