How high can gasoline go?

It's past what I can afford now. How about you. Banks used the bailout to purchase oil and hold it offshore till the price went up. We bailed them out and we provided so they could pay the government off, before they were required to be accountable.

It's over 3.00 a gallon where I live, what's it doing for you? My wages aren't up, my job isn't more secure, but my overhead certainly is. Are they paying us interest? Funny isn't it how it always goes down before an election but up before the fourth of July.

They want us to spend, just what exactly is it we have to spend?

Market driven my ass. It's driven by corporate profit mongers. The average citizen has cut back has the price? Maybe from it's last year speculative driven high which helped drive the world to financial collapse. We should emulated that shouldn't we. It's good for the market! It'll save polar bears and while we are at it let these same market gurus trade the right to pollute? That's good for the environment isn't it?

They were trading phony debt instruments now we'll create a whole new market based on selling the right to pollute. That makes sense?

 

It's doing wonders for me. higher prices for you = more dividends for me.

Not when you factor in rent, utilities and commodities. What portion of your pay do you pay to get back and forth to work? We don't have trains or even buses in most of our country. We have no other way to get to the job.

i was told in four years it's going to double whatever it is now... thank goodness it's still $2.40ish here.

 

I don't know how high it can go, but it does seem uncanny how they all seem to raise their prices at the exact same instant. But it's just an amazing coincidence, I'm sure.

So how much gas I use is not going to affect the price? Isn't that the argument made to protect the polar bears. That if they raise the price I'll use less thus protecting the environment. Thing is the poor working man of the US is using less, and no one is saying there is a shortage but the price is rising. So what is causing this?

Thing is some of us have been telling you about the purchase of oil at bargain rates and parked off shore. Thing is the banks purchased this stuff with bailout funds. Neener Neener! You lose your job and home and they gain and pay off their loans. Win/win isn't it? They own your jobs and your home. Plus, you can't go anywhere because you can't afford to. Their execs get their golden parachutes and you don't even get a bus ticket to nowhere.

 

But they are smarter than you and work harder so they should control the money. You are just are joe blow entitled you pay your taxes but hey you shouldn't expect any sort of protection. Capital gains and inheritance taxes need to be reduced but your family and home aren't worth consideration. Don't feel entitled just protect those capital gains and inheritance taxes those will ruin this country?

With those tax breaks we could fund health care reform, we could fund our police and fire departments. That's the big secret.

 

Doesnt affect me at all. I own their shares. Like I said, higher prices = more dividends.

Happy for you and your family. Thing is a lot of Americans can't afford stock or bonds. And even their retirement funds have evaporated. They are just trying to get to work and buy food and pay rent for their families. Happy the bailout worked for you. Glad the economy is looking up for you.

Hope you and your friends can buy enough goods to compensate for the people going under. Some of us can't even watch tv any longer but hey that's our fault we weren't smart enough to see it coming. Fewer people informed less flack the wealthy receive.

The market is all that counts isn't it? Up the price of gasoline while you can and then heating oil. Buy your technology tell us we are stupid, but who's going to buy you Chinese goods when we are gone?

Why would I want to compensate ? The poor dont stop buying useless consumer items in hard times. They just buy the cheaper ones. They aren't all old and going to be dead before the next election. They were part of the electorate that elected Obama they won't be there next time.

But they will remember who turned off their tv. And they won't focus on Bush.
