I saw that Anderson Cooper clip. He did a good job with the parts I saw. I heard the other day that Ron Paul is putting a bill before the USA Congress to legalize personal use of Marijuana. The law would grant people to have up to 3 ounces at one time and can use it for recreational purposes. I really hope that passes man. I hope the Senators and Congressmen realize that legalizing marijuana is what the people want. I mean really. When Obama put up the Online Chats where we could ask him questions, the top 10 questions were about legalizing marijuana. The number one for both Online Open Forums was about how we should legalize marijuana. Legalize it already man!

A while ago CNN was doing a poll on whether or not marijuana should be legalized. They were saying that the vast majority of people were saying yes. I don't think that it will happen anytime soon. I hope for the best, but expect the worst.

Ron Paul is awesome. Hope for the best. Hope the greed masters realize there is as much money in legalizing as there is in training guards cops and building prisons and colleges to train the army in the war on freedom. Illegalization has become business. The community college that I attended has a huge area and resources aimed at the training of cops, prison guards and probation officers, Larger than what is allocated for biologists teachers artists etc.... Priority for this is the so called war on drugs (war on freedom) A few in Washington get it Ron Paul is a hero to all who value freedom. :D

My mom and I were discussing the taxes that would come with legal weed. I was saying that I think they should use those taxes for our school system. All this money being funneled into our military and they're closing schools left and right. This would make it so that even people who opose the legalization of weed wouldn't be able to say that it's a bad thing, it's helping our kids. The next generation will have a better future thanks to marijuana. Better than this wasted money to stop regularly law abiding citizens from toking up.

You guys do realize that if by some reason this bill passes... that this just means marijuana will not be prosecuted on a federal level... it does not protect you from state laws..

Most states have some form of decriminalization or medical laws on the books or in the works. If the Feds stop that will be a major positive for growers and suppliers. And if the fed eases up states will soon follow. Peace all lovers of freedom:D

The Open Forums werent for Where is our 700 billion? It was ways to improve the economy and questions involving that topic. The top 10 suggestions that millions of voters voted on as the top 10 revolved around taxing weed and making it legal. California did the numbers and came up with they could make a one billion dollar profit off of making weed legal. That was just from taxes alone. I dont think that counted the cost of not having cops look for weed, holding people who were arrested for use or possession, the space not taken up in prison cells from weed users/dealers, etc. Which would provide even more money for California.

Now image that on a National scale, how much money we will save by not hunting down growers, dealers, and users of weed. If California can raise 1 billion, times that by 50 states (not counting the US territories), that comes up to 50 billion extra each year. That is 50 billion that could go to schools or other worthy causes.

The War on Drugs is just about as absurd as the War on Terror or the No Child Left Behind school reform. Just legalize it already! Weed is a victimless crime. The government is just punishing the users, growers, and dealers. It doesnt harm anyone. No one has ever robbed someone because they needed weed money. It is scientifically proven to 1) not be physically addictive, 2) help Cancer patients, and 3) prevents/cures/helps treat various diseases.

We waste more money on fighting the War on Drugs then we do spending more money on School or to help the Homeless or those people who really need it. So, go ahead and protest the trickle down economics of the Bush administration, but don't admonish all those people who saw the logic of legalizing weed to help the economy.

obviously asking Where is our 700billion dollars is not a question pertaining to our 700billion dollar debt...

Let's not forget that even though there may be this demand for marijuana.. if it were legalized they probably didn't take into acct the amount of buyers that would turn growers because it would be cheaper to grow marijuana legally than it would be to buy marijuana legally... their concepts on the whole taxes will bring billions is flawed
