    Hi All,

I live in an upstairs urban apartment, with no access to dirt, at all. I also have no access to outdoor sunlight, to speak of. Just what comes through my windows...

I have ruled out traditional composting, since I have no place for it. But, I'm considering getting a worm box.

I have no experience with worm composting, at all. Do you guys know how much waste the worms can eat? Also, what types of things do they eat? Will they eat paper? Food, obviously... Bones?

When I was composting outdoors, I composted *EVERYTHING* that wasn't plastic, metal, or flushed... Can the worms be used the same way?

    I appreciate anyone's advice. :)

What do you want to do with the compost? Seriously i whouldn't advise keeping compost in an apartment. For houseplants and an ocasional vegetable plant i'd stick with using store bought potting soil. if you want to recycle potting soil, sift it and bake it on a cookie sheet at around 250 degrees until it's dried out.

I already have two people who would be willing to take the compost off my hands. I do not have anything that I could do with it, personally... I am just really upset that I cannot compost, because I'm in an apartment; and I feel horrible putting all this paper and food into the landfill. Composting is something that I was really happy doing, before...
