Well, do you know anyone here in "Real Life?" Just kinda curious....I think forums can be pretty neat, getting many different opinions and being able to "talk" with people from all over the world, it's just that most the time people have no "true" ideal who eachother really are...Not that it's so different in the "real world." (You think you know someone and then one day they changed completely) Personally, I only know one person on these forums (at least that I'm aware of). And he is a genuine friend, which is a rarity these days...despite the "bad" shit I have to deal with right now in life.
Now that would depend on your interpretation of what's real now wouldn't it? A bit too subjective if you ask me. After all, reality is really only that which when we cease to believe in, does not disappear. Whether or not reality is entirely relative is up for debate...
Haha, I'm just being a dick. I like this definition "reality is only that which when we cease to believe in, does not disappear." - even though I don't think it's accurate. But to get on topic, I'd say I know someone here in "real life", bearing in mind reality and life are both entirely subjective concepts, as is the term "knowing" (Sorry I'm a douche today, but I'm a bit bored.)
Of course it's not accurate..."reality" by definition is undefinable. - "The quality or state of being real." Well than, what's "real?" - "Not artificial, fraudulent, or illusory." Is an artificial heart not real? Is a lie not still a conceived or percieved "reality?" How can we be so sure an illusion is just that...an illusion? Have you ever had a dream that you thought was real? I only said "real life" because I lacked better words. Words are irrelevant to me, it's the context they are used in that matters...aka their intended meaning. Take "bad words" for example. How can a word in and of itself be inherently "bad?" It's only in choosing to look at it as such that makes it so. If I say, "Fuck you" clearly there is a negative connotation about it, in contrast if I say, "Oh Fuck!" it's simply acting as an exclamation point if you will.
i haven't met anyone here. although hopefully i meet meet the UK-ians some time. probably at glasto 2010
I've met no one. I nearly did... but I'm glad I didn't. [it was one of those random seeing someone by chance things]. I don't really want to yet. we used to have a forum, with our school friends. Oh the drama it created. xD
I've met one... well I introduced her to the forums if that counts. May very well meet others as time goes on...
