Two nights ago around 1:30 in the morning on TVO I saw a documentary on Nick Drake. His music blew my mind. For the past two days I've done nothing but listen to his music. You can actually hear his soul in his songs. Other music I've heard the artists put in their opinion on a subject or their two cents. When I hear Nick's music you can tell he put 100% of his being into every song. Any other fans on here?

Nick Drake is the reason I learned to fingerpick/play folk guitar. Yes, he was amazing.

  7. I haven't listened to a lot of his stuff yet, but the stuff I've heard I've really liked.

Yea. I'm trying to find some of his albums on vinyl but they're really damn hard to find. His style was very unique. He and his story reminded me a little bit of Daniel Johnston. Nick's way better though.

I'm getting more and more into his stuff! Took a while though, but sometimes you can't force it, hehe. Few weeks ago I just put Bryter later on and I just felt his songs that time. :)

He's way ahead of his time. <-- sounds cliche but it's true. His sound is so developed and mature.

Ahh finally someone to talk about Nick Drake with!! Pink Moon is one the greatest albums of all time in my opinion. It breaks my heart when I think about his short tragic life, but I think it's a beautiful thing that what went unnoticed while he was alive eventually surfaced and got the recognition it deserved. He is a legend and a beautiful person. RIP Nick Drake.

His album 'Pink Moon' is so achingly sad and beautiful, and the acoustic arrangements are amazing. I only recently started listening to his music, but so far I've loved every song I've heard.

Well, I have to say that he doesn't do much for me, but... different strokes for different folks, etc.

But you might like to know that Nick Drake plays quite a large part in several novels by UK writer Phil Rickman. Basically there's a secondary character, a musician, who was influenced by Drake, maybe a bit too much for his own good. Various themes and lyrics from Drake have been quoted at various times, and he even visited Drake's grave in one novel.

And... there is now a CD of songs, alledgedly by this fictional musician, and I'm pretty sure it includes a Drake cover.
