I know they're no longer selling mushrooms but are the smartshops still up and running, and if so what do they still have their? (peyote?) also, are you able to get mushrooms elsewhere? I'm going in the begining of July, haven't been there since new years '07.
There are still smart shops (also called head shops) in Amsterdam and they've simply kept / expanded everything else they were selling next to the mushrooms that are now banned: specific (psychoactive?) herbs, hallucinogens, vaporizers and bongs, cannabis seeds and growing equipment, health supplements, energy pills and drinks, books and videos etc. There will probably still be some psychoactive stuff among it. You cannot get magic mushrooms anywhere legally in Amsterdam (in shops etc.) but illegally you can get anything in a city like Amsterdam.
