I wanted to get a tattoo of my grandma. She's dying now, at 93. I love her to death... She is the best lady. I have this fantastic picture of her, victory rolls and all. And I just love it. I'd love to get her portrait. But the placement is so hard... I want to be able to show her before she passes. Totally a random thought! Haha
well, i'm not a big fan of tattoos of old ladies... it's cool that you had a good grandma though. spend some time with the ol' gal!
That's really cool...and I'm not even a big fan of tattoos. Go for it, it'll probably mean a lot to her as well.
I'd get something to symbolize her. Calligraphic initials or a symbol of some sort. Portrait tattoos are creepy.
word... or maybe even like a cartoonized pinuppy girl version of her. Idk, but actual realistic portait tats of peoples faces and such creep me out.
If you do it, find the absolute BEST tattoo artist or you could end up with something horrible... Your grandma will probably be horrified, unless she is a biker.
Ah, dammit Daisy, I was all into the somewhat serious mood of the conversation, and then you had to go and put up that tattoo that looks like a fucking troll. It makes me laugh so hard every time. Poor person who has to live with it! And especially poor kid that it's supposed to be! I agree that you have to find an AWESOME artist who has a portfolio of SEVERAL portraits. If time is an issue, you might want to just do something symbolic if you'd like her to see it before she passes, and then get the portrait, because finding an artist good enough to do you justice may take awhile.
...we disagreed on the snow thing in the other thread. so there. :cheers2: (though I think that's just cause you an cherea wanna be my neighbors)
