I have currently been thinking about how Salvia may be the way to a new psychedelic era much like the 60's. I see many similarities to the rise of Sally and the rise of LSD, they both rose to prominence in the underground scene legally, and were both thought of as a teaching tool. Of course there are quite large differences, as Salvia is much more of an abstract drug, with a much shorter trip... But I think if anything, that would lead us to perhaps a more enriching and creative culture. First Off, the abstract knowledge and "dreamlike" experience of Salvia would give rise to creativity and artistic interpretation. ANDDDD 2nd, The salvia trip is very quick, usually only 5-30 minutes... Meaning we could go on with our daily lives, and not have to be strung out for hours at a time like the days of acid... I can almost envision a giant festival dedicated to the spiritual use of salvia... which only begs the question... Can you past the salvia test Haha, just a thought I guess... probably not realistic, but still fun to think about... and maybe if the world is in the right situation... It just might happen. What do you think???
I don't think salvia is well-respected enough to amount to a new psychedelic era. It's a rare individual that takes this sacred plant seriously.
I wanna pass the salvia test. the only problem is you can't spike Kool-Aid with Salvinorin A it isnt really a "party drug" though. definatly more of an art & culture type of thing
I think most people, especially those who haven't experienced a psychedelic BEFORE salvia, will not enjoy it at all. You guys basically said it. It's gotta be respected, and it really isn't a recreational thing. I do suspect it will soon be illegal though, which will boost the "salvia scene" with time. Once people are told they can't have it, they'll do it just to do it.
The problem would be finding strains that are legitimiate... which are not often found at head shops in my area. The only guaranteed way to get some is off the net, which some people might be objectionable to in a new psychedelic era.
Salvia is way too intense for most people, even when compared to the pure LSD from the early 60s. I don't think most people have the capacity to understand salvia in the same way. Personally, I don't like the experience too much. It feels like my brain cannot process whatever is happening, whereas any other psychedelic may destroy my ego, but I feel I can understand the drug's action better. I'll stick with my alkaloids and leave the diterpenoids to others. Mad respect to those who find Ska Pastora useful though.
