It's not as gross as them living in your hair! I would much rather them be dead in my hair than alive in there
I got lice waaay back as a kid in elementary school and even though that was many moons ago- I have not forgotten the experience. It is intense itching. Like you would seriously rather skin your head than put up with it. You cant stop scratching no matter what & you see these little white egg sacs-nits attached to your hair. You cant remove them without combing them out. I have to tell ya my mom spent major $$$$ buying box after box of those shampoo's. (My mom is a clean freak- our house was not the house that started the school pandemic) Those shampoos didnt work for us. We ended up having to use diluted turpentine.. Worked like a charm the first time. I ditto the above- Id rather have dead buggies than live buggies. Although I think If I had lice- I personally couldnt stand the thought of dead buggies livng in my hair so I would prob buy a crap load of conditioner or that knotty boy kit that helps comb out the dreads and comb all my dreadies out- just so I could take the fine tooth nit comb to my hairs get all the dead buggies and egg sacs out. I would rather start over with mah dreads than have dead bugs (just me- I wouldnt blame anyone if they let em be)- its a fun journey, and I aint got nothing but time Have someone peak at your hair. Check for lice, then breathe- you may just have an itchy scalp.. Try a few drops of peppermint essential oil in a spray bottle of water- yummm spray lightly on the scalp.
lice tend to live close to the scalp, so if they were deaded you could be really pedantic and get them out one by one with tweezers or summat? as for getting rid of them, ive heard allsorts.. suffocate them (ie, smear your head in vaseline for about 3 days and wear a towel to create heat to kill 'em) but that seems sorta messy =/
eeek and then trying to get dead lice and vaseline out of your dreads! I heard tea tree stops lice from going on your hair so I put a few drops in when I wash mine
