any specific reason for posting this?

we lock/delete/move threads that are off topic, discuss the banned, or have reached over 1000 posts
we delete posts that are spam, or sometimes we delete personal attacks.
we ban people who are trolling or who post under 2 different aliases in the same thread, or who break other forum rules.

Not a tool fan, but I agree - the less censorship, the better. I try to let as much slide as possible since I know people like to chat here... it would be boring if ALL we talked about was dreads.

I wrote my Comp1 final on censorship... lemmi see if i can find it... nope, not on my jump anymore, anyways... it was titled "Fuck Censorship", it had a plain piece of brown paper stapled to the front as a cover page to cover it lol. it was riddled with swear words and just about anything that shouldn't be in an english paper. My prof. loved it, he was super laid back, wore sandals to class everyday lol, so I had no doubts it would go over well.

Lol. One of the most important rules(If not the most important) to writing a persuasive paper: Know your audience.

I wouldn't necessarily have closed OR moved it, but Luxie wanted to for whatever reason, which is her prerogative as a mod. so I compromised and moved it instead of closing it because technically that is the right thing to do for off-topic threads.

If the thread weren't off-topic I would have simply reopened it, but because it was off-topic and another mod wanted it closed, I thought it would be best to just move it, since that's what we're supposed to do with such threads anyway.

ha well like I said, it's very rare that you'll see me lock a thread of my own accord.

but that is a thread that no one would try to read through, it's a day to day sort of thing. anyway, feel free to start a new one if you like and I'll close the old one.

I think it's seriously lame people delete posts and shit because they are offensive. How they hell are you to know who's a douchebag if you go deleting posts. Lock the thread, but don't censor it. Seriously lame for a free speech forum to censor shit that is subjective anyway.
