Why do you think people don't go to their class reunions? I was talking with a friend about this today. Our high school reunion is coming up next month and we were saying that there usually is more people from out of state that come than those who are local.

What's your reason for not going?

I'm scared I will meet people there that will remember me and I won't remember them.

I'm a seasonal worker so I'm usually working

  6. Why would you show up? I'm not really into gossip and mindless chit-chat.

The first reunion I went to was my 20th high school reunion. No one had seen me all that time. I showed up in the Grateful Dead tour shirt for Madison Square Garden 1990, which I expect blew some minds since I was a straight-arrow in high school. I had fun.

soon after i got out of the army i saw a guy i went to school with.he heard i had been killed in nam.so i've never shown up at a reunion.i wouldn't want to disappoint them with a sudden upgrade in my health.

I did go to my 20th. I had a great time and so did everyone else. I think the only people who complain about high school reunions are the people who don't go.

over the past 30 years, i have done quite well, at keeping in touch with the people i hung out with in high school.
i was in the "werido group" in high school. during h.s. we were called "the freaks," "the losers," "the weridos," etc.
we hung out together, because no one else wanted anything to do with us.
not one of those people i hung out with in h.s. have every been to a reunion. (me included)
why in the fuck, would any of us want to be around those "people," who crushed us under their iron heel, and who also, walked and shited on us day in and day out?
we all agree, that h.s. was THE WORST years of our lives, and all of us are still dealing with the psychological and spiritual scars from h.s.

My high school class has only had two reunions so far. I went to the last one, and it was interesting, though some of the most interesting people didn't show up. It was only amusing for the moment, in a superficial kind of way, because in a typical month I don't think about any of those people.

Why spoil the fun of only seeing the others 10 and then 20 years later and so on, by going in between? THEN there really might be something slightly interesting to talk about, other that the same old same olds..

Hmm well, I just graduated last year so I cant relate. I'm not sure how someone your age feels about high school, it is the opinion of everyone I know, as well as me, that high school sucked, and that college is much better in every way. And I would imaging a reunion being awkward. Even if its just a 30 year reunion, your basically meeting a stranger. Lol, I could imagine my 30 year reunion... An old friend walks up, with thick rimed glasses, all dressed up, and balding, and he says "Well howdie there! Say pal, do you remember when you took those hallucinogenic mushrooms during lunch in 11th grade? You became so intoxicated I had to drive you home. Jee wilikers."

I' ve stayed in touch with the people who mattered to me during those years. The rest of them matter to one another, therefore THEY should get together and go for it. If I had no use for them so many years ago, chances are really good that I'd STILL have no use for them after so many years have elapsed. Since *time* is one of our finite resources, I choose to spend mine on those people who are important to me ! ~ ~ ~
