anybody have any good idea's on how to make their live's simpler and more technology-free, especially in the city? hmm food wise i eat mostly rice, bread, home-made soups, pasta's, stirfries, steak, cheese, wine... drink pretty much only water, juice and tea. take the bus everywhere, buy clothes only at thrift stores. boycotted all fast food (and prepacked food that i used to eat a ton when i first moved out [ichiban, pizzapops, etc]) tv i download southpark every week, but i can't watch the actual tv, all the ads piss me off too much. anyone else have any idea's?

That is great that you want to live a more simpler life. I wish I did have some suggestion on how you can make it even more simpler. I think you are off to a great start right now.
Great post, I'm trying the same myself. I've stopped watching tv & buying things unless I really need them. I'm also working on my meditation.

i just feel sick because technology has gotten to the point where its way more likely to kill us then save us.
We be the Constitution state now, but nutmeg is a drug, and well, you do the math on why they changed the name.
Hahaha... when I saw the "nutmeg state" thing on your profile... I thought about that and was thinking "probably changed it because it was a drug"... Virginia is the old dominion and supposedly the "hospitality" state...
nutmeg is a spice, not a drug (err, well, it is kinda, but a stupid one. it's way better as a spice).
nah how can a state be so mean to something that goes into EGGNOG?!! thats terrible....... but getting back to simple living, i try to use my resources as much as possible.. before my grampa died, he taught me all this wicked stuff abou living off the land. ha he used to boil lily roots and eat em...and they aren't that bad!!! reminds me of bamboo shoots.... i plan on living in a yurt or log cabin somewhere maybe in BC, and i want some chickens and goats for milk and eggs and pets of course, and i want a big veggie garden, and lots of little buildings everywhere.lol. shacks if you will....... a nice big studio i can work in(i want to be an artist....pottery, glass blowing...all that stuff.) and a little shop.. i want to just make my living off of my own trades... simple enough?
if you use a computer you wouldn't know the simple life if it bit you on the arse so go watch an Amish community and learn from them
