Never, because I live in a temperate climate with sufficient/abundant rainfall, I suspect my San Pedro gets more water than it needs.

It depends on a number factors as with most cacti. If its in a container or in the ground, if its indoors or in a greenhouse, or the climate and weather, if its outdoors, the soil type, if its well draining or not and how long it holds water, etc etc. Water when the soil is dry, could be a couple days to weeks/months depending on those conditions. A moisture meter makes it easy to know if the soil is dry or not, even in the bottom of containers.

here in san diego i water about one every 2 weeks, unless it rains (almost never in the summer) give the soil a little fluff every couple of days to see under the top layer. mass is more humid and colder so you might have to go longer.

It depends mostly on the rainfall in my area. In the southwest, it's obvious hot as fuck-all right now, so if it doesn't rain I water my babies at least once a week if not more. Once it begins to cool off again, I'll slowly taper off the water until winter when I water them twice a month at most. Once it's March again I slowly increase water until they show definite signs of growth. This method has worked well for my two pachanoi so far, and this year's additions (a bridgesii and three macrogonus) all seem to be equally happy.
