Precisely, but for the food, the price is pretty decent. Ruth's Chris has a more elegant atmosphere(kinda snoody, really) and is about $20 a person more for similar meals, but the food is no better by any means. Fridays is another place I'd choose over Applebees because the food isn't prepared any better, but I feel like they have more options and they definitely make better drinks.
Yeah, Fridays has a better bar. I hade Chilli's food but they always have 2 for 1 beer special (or so it seems) and some decent beers on tap. But hell... if I'm gonna eat out it's gonna be fancy. Steak or sushi please.
yeah, same here. fridays is better than applebees. outback is good, but lonestar steakhouse is basically the same idea done much better. the only downside being that you have to listen to shitty pop-country music the whole time...
That's weird... i don't think i've ever eaten at Appleby's, and it's the ONLY restaurant "chain" we have in this town. i like Chinese better, and we have a KILLER Chinese Buffet restaurant here!
a decent place (when compared to what else was around in Vt.) to get some beers, some alright food and hang out for a while.
Mediocre food, poor selection of beers... Easy to put on weight eating at places like that often. Overall, not bad if you're already looking for middle of the road american food.
From my experience, they're incredibly bland. I would NOT suggest Applebee's to someone who was looking for an "American" experience.
That's why I stated something to the effect of middle of the road american...Wasn't just a statement on the price. Mediocre is really what I think of when I picture myself eating there. This made me think of something I really miss... My favorite after drinking spots from back in the day... There was this guy that used to sell meat on a stick, a vendor that only sold it for a couple hours right around closing time for the local bars... It was marinated with something called "moon sauce"... We all used to call the place the Cat Stand. Totally made your mouth water as the smell of roasting meat wafted over the bar district. :cheers2:
food is overpriced, greasy, and as i understand it nearly EVERYTHING comes to them frozen. never had a particularly good experience there as far as food is concerned. i wouldn't go by my own choosing
I was gonna say never been and I sure I haven't missed anything but then I saw this. then I decided to go ahead cuz I'm more arrogant and ignorant
I get the Chicken Fajita Rollup when I go there. I like it. The prices are very reasonable I think, I mean, we're a family of 5, and going out to eat can get pretty expensive, especially because we also tend to buy appetizers and drinks. It's a casual, family friendly place, which is also important to us when going out as a family. Is my my absolute favorite restuarant? Well of course not, but for a cheaper, casual family dining experience I have no complaints.
i feel they should build one closer than 60 miles away from us before the gift certificate someone gave us at christmas expires.
