...I was under the impression that you're completely and totally wrong. But that might be because the only real exposure I've had to Sherlock Holmes has been his American doctor counterpart, Dr. Gregory House. But as far as I know, they are VERY VERY similar in character. Drug addicted snarky geniuses.

Holmes wasn't a drug addict he used narcotics in very few of the stories and it was only refrenced because it was edgy at the time.

But I admit that Hugh Lauries take on Shelock is the best I've ever seen.
Holmes is like House M.D. on steroids.

You must be incredibly intelligent to have read Doyle at 4.
Most kids can't even read then.

Is that the version where Holmes is a Communist?
He wants Watson to redistribute mystery cases to other detectives.

Wouldn't that make him more lazy than communist?

I remember watching a series of Russian Sherlock Holmes flicks that were pretty good. When I was a kid, anyway.

And I've read "Hound of the Baskervilles."

I think the movie looks badass. I like how they seem to have a sharp and observant Watson as opposed to the fat bumbling sidekick he's usually portrayed as.
