everyone just kind of quit ours after the teacher with the enrichment training got promoted and they just stuck us with the art teacher... except for the one guy who got kicked out for getting a C and shot himself in the stomach... i don't really think it was related to his getting kicked out though, hopefully..
When I was in first grade, my best friend was in the gifted program. i also got pulled from class once a week and thought I was in the gifted program. years later, I found out I was in the special reading program (i have dyslexia) ):.
I think Lynz may be the only one to appreciate this in full but, I was victim of EVERY failed experiment of the nevada education system of the nineties mismanaged GT, image classes (4th5th6th graders in one classroom), externships, because "they aren't internships" had a teacher who was only planning to be in the classroom for two weeks, and they were fighting to find a new teacher during those two weeks, I was going to be in cathy powell's class, she was brutally murdered, ended up with a different teacher (who wasn't fully qualified, who they scrambled to hire) fun times.
Computer Programmer; Nurse; Business Admin; Management Information Systems; Accountant. No doctorates ~ TONS of certification/diplomas. i'm a student of life, i guess. You sound like the same, Dave. You were way too smart for the classes, lost interest, and pursued your OWN agenda. :sifone: to YOU, sir!
my highest level of education now is 11th grade, however i am interested in getting a masters degree, hopefully being able to double major in seismology and german.
Nevada education is laughable. In addition, the school day is too short, as is the school year. I wqas in a very strict sit down all day kind of school. I have ADHD, so you can imagine how horrible i felt about myself. I was so ebarassed, because I was a really good girl, with a really big heart. It hurt so bad to be labeled a trouble maker when I couldn;t help it. It still gives me such a complex. It's important to me to feel liek I am 'good' as oppossed to 'bad'.
scotch jew angle. MAYBE german jew, but, jewish enough to not look teutonic. and not know more than about fifteen words of german. just suggesting an efficient strategy.
i wish, germans are fuckin' sexy. i'm considering applying to a school that offers a study abroad program, if not than i may double major for bachelors in german and geology/seismology then just get my masters in seismology.
or rosetta stone. I had 5 spanish lab hours a week all six years in college and we had to do rosetta stone all fucking 5 hours. But it worked.
What? Are you normally some sort of asshole person? If you are, good luck with that. If you aren't, don't worry about how you'll be taken ~ they either "get it" or they don't. We're called "Drama Queens" 'cuz we explain ourselves too much. It's hard, Bella ~ to know when to just STFU. Welcome to my world. :sifone:
Yeah, well, formal education isn't exactly all it's cracked up to be, eh? Otherwise... how do the geniuses KEEP showing up, regardless of the base that they build on?
I whined and grizzled all the way through school and graduated year 12 in '07. I went off to college in '08 because my math sucked (still does). Final grade was a C, so after I finshed up last year, I decided I'd come back just to see if I can get a higher grade. So far it look's like I'll get another C.
