I'm not eligible to donate, since I've had a transplant, but I've had 2 blood transfusions and if I were eligible I'd totally donate.

i used to donate on a fairly regular basis. lately i haven't because of certain health and energy issues. but i went to give blood last week, and didn't get there in time. :( next blood drive is in august, so i'll def. do it then.

    oh, and i'm 26
never received another's blood, and i'd have to be nearly dead to agree to it.

i can't give blood because i had sex with another male since 1977. that is pure bullshit too! i'm negative for hepatitis of all types; i even got my booster shots last year for hep a and b. i'm also hiv negative and, i have not had sex with another guy since 2003. my complete std blood profile last year was negative and, i have not had sex with any new people since that blood test. i'm quite willing to under go another complete std blood profile before i give blood; i also get a complete std blood profile before i have sex with another new person and, i demand the same from them too. i'm safe to give blood. it is just fucking discrimation aganist bi and gay males thats all! more people get blood boren diseases from blood donations from straight people then from bis and/or gays. anyway, all blood is tested for diseases before being used so, chances are quite small of gitting anything. sorry for the rant, i'm getting off my soap box now. my blood type is o negative and, i've never have needed a blood transfusion

I have never donated blood, as I had low calcium or iron. But I'll have some blood analyses in May and if they come out fine I'd like to donate. I haven't used donor blood... yet - I say yet, as we never know what might happen. I am 25. My blood type is A II.

I would donate blood if it wouldn't make me pass out... but I'm pretty sure it would. Just the thought of having blood being pumped out of me kinda makes me woozy. Like even just getting a blood sample makes me light headed... so yeah I don't know about that. But I would!

I know what you mean. I pass out too. Blood samples make me pass out afterwards as well. But this is not something to stop me...

No, but I'm O-Positive so I really should. Unfortunately, the last time I was about to give blood, the doctor told me that I SHOULD be getting blood because I was aneamic.

But then she give me iron pills and said they couldn't give me blood because the risks of HIV. I don't feel very secure now about blood.

gave a lot (and sold plasma) before the rules changed about living in the UK.

I was also on the marrow registry. I was informed I'm no longer there. Sigh.

I'm a ful organ and tissue donor with medical school body donation as an option should I not die in hospital.

I used to donate blood all the time. I went to Africa in 2005 so I had to wait 3 years before I could give again in the US, but that was up last month, so the next time the bloodmobile stops by work I'll be in the chair again. I'm o- and I've never needed blood.

i have a friend named lady raven who claims she is a "real" vampire. she has a doner who lets her drink her blood. lady claims she is so vampire that she farts vampire bats. (i sure would love to see her actually pull that one off!) if you give me your ok finnish, i'll tell her to fly to you one night while your sleeping and, she will turn you into a vampire too. vampires she claims do not get diseases from blood after they are turned. i think lady is quite full of shit on that point! what do you think finnish... does it sound like a good ideal to you?

i donated plasma twice this week for the first time and the second time scared me so bad...first of all i have small veins so that involves two or three people haveing to come and stand over me to feel my veins for a while until then someone gets up the courage to push the big need in my arm and hope they get it...okay so now its in my arm and it's sucking blood out of my veins and i can feel it while i have to pump my hand..then my arm starts to feel numb and i finally get someones attention because it's so crowded in the room and they come look at my arm and its started to get puffy around the site..so it turns out that i had a clot forming under the skin...so they take the needle out and then pull the clot out of my arm...anyways i feel tired and dehydrated and it scared the shit out of me..so thats my experience....

I just donated blood last week...it is a bit scary especially if you dont like needles. heres what will happen. you fill out this long questionaire, then you get your temperature and blood pressure taken then they prick your finger for a little blood sample to see if your iron level is good, then its over to the reaxing chair where you lean back and kick your feet up, they clean your arm with iodine, find your vein then poke the needle in and you just sit there and try not to pass out, you can usually see others in the room with you. The needle is fairly big and gets irritating being in your arm for 5 or 6 minutes. Afterwards your arm will be sore for a while and you might feel like fainting but they will keep an eye on you and give you some snacks before they release you. Its not to bad and it makes you feel good to help someone out.Orexis
