So I backcombed my dreads a few days ago (I know I know)...anyways...I notice some of them are starting to fall out just a bit. Should I just leave it alone and wait patiently for them to re-dread or keep back-combing? Thanks!
I did mine about two weeks ago, and I was soooo worried for the first few days that they would fall apart. I would constantly re-backcomb them, but it happens anyway. Im sure everyone on here will tell you to relax and let them do their thing, because they will un-knot to make real dreadlocks and what not, but the important thing is to just wait it out and see how they do.
and with such long hair like yours, Im sure they will be knotting up in no time! The way I figure it is, (for me at least) not to baby them. at first I would be so careful with sleeping and showering and all that, but now I think that will only hinder the locking process. let them be wild!
yours look like they will lock up quickly. go about your business, they will unknot at first but as long as you don't brush them or condition them you will have dreads in 6-8 months.
I used the backcombing method and yeah at first they seemed to be falling out but for a while I backcombed and palm rolled everyday. Now they are just about 8 months old and are really looking like nice tight dreads, a few of them are super tight! So yeah like they were saying just give it some time and you will be a lot happier ~Cheers
Yeah I kept doing it cause I was afraid they might not hold but it worked out fine and made me feel better lol. ~Cheers
