Haha are you serious? That's dumb. I mean i know what they are trying to do.. make kids eat healthier and everything, but really, why would they just up and change his name? It'll always be cookie monster in my mind

I'd heard that Cookie Monster was now eating fruits & veggies and claiming that cookies are "sometimes foods" instead of constantly gobbling them up, but hadn't heard that his name had been changed. I sure hope they didn't, that would be a sad sad day for me... don't we all need to believe in a cookie-craving monster with abhorrent manners every once in awhile?

They should of just made a new character call Veggie monster who is slim and related to the cookie monster. Reinventing an old character is just uncreative and annoying.

Wow, that's news to me but I think the last time I watched Sesame Street was the day that the space shuttle Challenger blew up on take off. Back in those days I only had 2 channels and had the day off during exam days between fall and spring semesters in high school and they interrupted my regular scheduled programming to break the news to a bunch of preschoolers.

I think it is a good idea though since vegetable are a lot healthier than cookies.

    Cookie monster is a classic.
You can't get rid of it. Even though I agree that it's a healthier idea and I've been a vegetarian for two years, you can't just get rid of him.
    Go cookie monster.
