do parallell universes exist? if they do will it ever be possible to travel between them, I sure hope that this is the case it would solve a lot of problems wouldnt it? whats your view?
Agreed - there are a myriad of parallel dimensions, alternate reality threads, etc. Some peeps can already consciously travel between them, as the only difference between the worlds is a subtle vibrational shift - some do it unconsciously, and marvel at how their life has turned in a totally different direction
they exist--ive had oobes and visited astral planes some are scary and dangerous some are cool---but they dont make acid like they used to so less ans less people get to experience them
I'm going with the controversial answer of NO. Why? Because it feels like it is attempting to solve some of our scientific questions, rather than anything else. Akin to asking if there is a god.
^^ i'm kind of with you. i think concepts like parallel universes are easy answers to the unknown. i don't personally believe in them but i suppose it's possible. but so are a lot of other "wacky" philosophies.
I truly believe they're out there... as long as thought and imagination and ideas exist. There are millions of possibilities out there.
I don't know, and honestly I don't think a single person really does...all we can do is speculate. Cosmology is very interesting though, especially when we consider that the quantum matter contained within our universe has rather "spastic" behavior. Take atom radiation for example, whether it be electromagnetic or particulate (sp?). They don't emit at a consistent rate. Different possible measurements of this radiation and the measurement of an atom in general can have varying outcomes, which I believe may give rise to the possibility of multiple universes coexisting. Basically the outcome of an infinite range of possibilities being acted out. I guess they've developed string theory too.....but I have yet to fully comprehend that. I believe it's the theory that there's a subquantum existence of "strings" that make up particles and in turn molecules etc....etc...The vibrations of these strings determines the actions of the particle itself....There's something to do with the interaction between large groups of these "blocks" that creates universes and/or destroys them. I'll have to brush up on String theory it's been a while....maybe I'll be able to contribute something of value after having done that....
The only place "no" would be controversial is forums like this. There is no credible evidence for so-called parallel universes.
Plenty of physicists believe parallel universes exist. No credible evidence? I don't know. There is no empirical evidence yet, but there is lots of ongoing research into this which tells me that it's not too far-fetched a theory. Also, M-theory and string theory both advocate parallel universes. (I believe, string theory may or may not)
I've enjoyed reading other's answers. I personally love the idea of parallel universes, and i think about it all the time. I can't be sure that they are there though, and no one can be really. I just love the idea that they are. Einstein came really close though when he was showing that particles don't stay in once place, that all the particles that make up the universe and matter actually bounce around, meaning they can be in many places at once. I.E. parallel universes. You should also check out string theory.
Not very many of them do. You are correct .. there's not a shred of empirical evidence. None. Does that mean that there isn't any? Of course not. But until there is some evidence, this is strictly fantasy. You might as well say you believe in unicorns.
The thing is, these paralell universes are outside of our reality... so could we move between two worlds, realities?
