Probably my favorite artist. His first record is a bit hit-or-miss, and very eclectic, although it's dominated by somber, acoustic indie-folk ala Conor Oberst. His second record, on the other hand, "Further North", is the finest of this past decade, in my reckoning. Plenty of pedal steel, stomping rhythms, and brilliant lyrics to be had. It's equal parts Crazy Horse, Gram Parsons, and the Pixies. If you're a fan, discuss. If not, buy Further North, smoke a jay, and you will be!
