Is Google Evil?

How do you feel about Google, is Google evil? An opportunist? What are you thoughts on Google?

 

google is evil, but less evil than M$

 

it's just a search tool....how can it be evil.

 

by saving all of your search results and attaching them to your account, or IP for perusal by their ad reps, and sales to other companies.

 

it's useful.

it's probably also evil, but i don't know it well enough on a personal level to say for sure.

well its freaky that it does that in my opinion

but also google assists the Chinese government in blocking the information that its citizens receieve...especially with Tibet...and i HATE that about google

 

I just got an advert in the mail for a magazine called Cookie, for the, and these are their words, not mine, the sexy moms, the moms with style. Haha! Now how would they know that?

I get all kinds of things in the mail that can be directly related to my online activity. It's kind of cool in a way, but kind of creepy in another. Although I must confess that the creepy kind of overrides the cool.

 

that is incredibly creepy, its like online places are now selling our addresses wtf

 

They offer a lot of services, that really, they don't have to, and don't result in much profit or even always usage.
That being said, they have also done a couple of dirty business moves.
But I think they treat the consumer with the respect it deserves and are if anything, one of the better American corporations today.

 

um they don't make much of a profit? how do you know this? i've heard otherwise.

Google is a corporation.

 

Google has helped me learn in at least 10,000 different ways. No its not evil from my perspective but mabey from the other side they rape babies i don't know.

 

IF there ever is a Matrix, it would be what will become of Google one day.

I'm sure of this.

They are prolly harvesting fetus's right now!

 

the finely crafted irony is that a cookie is the means by which google tracks you.

 

They only keep that information for 18 months.


To the OP, no. Google has been and still is a tool for learning, easily putting the power in the users hands to find out just about anything from giving an unborn child brain damage during sex to Steve Jobs skipping 20,000 people waiting for a liver. I might be a bit naive about googles' motives, but as I see google has help bring more innovation to the web by competition.

Im not sure. Seeing as you have control of what you search, you could be evil. I definitely think fox news is evil
