Yup, pretty interesting effects. I would like to see scientists try to explain the effects as something other than a 'hallucination'. http://deoxy.org/video?v=DD7QYL1u848 Ayahuasca vine eaten by wild Jaguars in Peru http://deoxy.org/video/OqGDv0KCJl8
I just heard something about it, i figured some of the people on here would have opinions or experiances.
It puts you in a conscious state of rem sleep. You will literally be in your dreams and/or nightmares. It only last 10-20 minutes though.
its a short acting powerful pshcydedelic trip---called the buisnessmans trip cas it lasted about 45 minutes---we got 5meodmt from toads---thed squirt on the windowpane of a car wind shield--let it dry scrape and smoke--too potent for me and always gave me a bad trip--dont know what kind of toad but ann old hippie had a toad farm just to produce this shit-i believe it needed some chemistry to make it really good-but alot of people liked that toad squeeze--it was pretty close to real dmt but like i said it didnt appeal to me
i advise looking into rick strassman's research. in 1990 he began a project that lasted several years involving intravenous injection of DMT into human volunteers. it was extremely difficult to get clearance to do this: in order for the DEA to agree to let him experiment on a human subject, he first needed FDA clearance. in order to get FDA clearance, he needed a sample they could test. Without DEA clearance, he could not legally produce the DMT for the FDA to sample his book "DMT: The Spirit Molecule" details the project, the roadblocks, the experiences of the volunteers, and the followup project using psilocybin. he finally admits that science, at its current state, cannot adequately explain the DMT phenomenon or even psychedelics in general, including psilocybin. if nothing else, it is a very interesting read.
I have checked out video interviews of him, but I never checked out his book. I'm surprised that he ever gained clearance... that's some kind of miracle . Hard enough to do research on THC... You know, I should check out that book. Documentaries are good but they don't give the whole picture. Yea, I can imagine that the DMT phenomenon is going to turn what we 'know' on its head. Too often scientists explain these experiences away as 'screwups in the brain'. That's just a presupposition and has nothing to back up what they're saying Thx, I'll look into it
Yeah, DMT is a very interesting "drug." I put drug in quotes because DMT is made naturally by any living thing right?
i have not tried it yet myself, but i have experience with DPT HCl (dipropyltryptamine hydrochloride, a very close chemical relative of DMT) both insufflated and once in a small-volume liquid solution administered as an enema. the effects of DPT are mindblowing. i currently have ayahuasca and chacruna which i will soon brew together. the enzyme MAO which occurs in the gut and other parts of the body normally renders DMT inactive when consumed orally, but ayahuasca contains MAO inhibiting betacarbolines, making the DMT orally active. this produces a longer lasting, "less intense" effect, and one qualitatively different from DMT in that the betacarbolines are themselves also psychoactive and slightly psychedelic. ayahuasca vine contains the MAOIs, chacruna contains DMT. the mixture is supposed to taste foul and almost universally induces vomitting, and occasionally diarrhea. this is called the purge. the resulting brew is called ayahuasca, same as the vine, as the vine is traditionally considered the most important part of the brew. the chacruna is just a "helper." it is supposedly highly visionary and introspective. because MAO is inhibited during the experience, one must follow a careful diet for a few days before and after the experience. ayahuasca is the focus of many indigenous religions in south and central america, as well as several modern religions, primarily from brazil, such as santo daime and the UDV. santo daime has recently won court cases allowing them to partake of ayahuasca ritualistically under the restoration of religious freedom act, the act that allegedly restores the freedom of native american religious groups to use peyote despite it's illegality for other americans. this will be my first experience with DMT, but it will be atypical of your standard smoked, injected, or insufflated DMT experience for several obvious reasons.
not necessarily any living thing, but hundreds, possibly thousands, of living things. this is just in measurable amounts and in things we've happened to find it in. the human body naturally produces DMT, and some theorize that it is the cause of dreams, but i find this slightly lacking personally. it has also been credited with naturally occuring psychedelic states, such as near death experiences and "alien abductions," as well as a number of types of religious ecstasies. it is produced in a wide ranging variety of plants, animals and other organisms, and is probably the most widely occurring psychedelic in nature.
