acid mothers temple, japanese psychadellic band, but their stuff is chill as fuck

pink lady lemonade (20 min song) is a good song to start off with and for a little more upbeat, but still chill try electric psilocybin flashback (40 min song)

some mellow psychedelic shit for sure

    I second Merriweather Post Pavillion.

Check out Mark Fry's Dreaming With Alice album. There's one song in particular, an 8 minute long number called Mandolin Man. It's got some wonderful mandolin jamming goin on. Krautrock is IMO the pinnacle of psychedelia in music. Bands like Can, Amon Duul II and Faust create the most acid drenched, other worldly musical soundscapes I've ever heard. Can's first album, Monster Movie, is brilliant. Amon Duul II's Yeti is very interesting, particularly the first song Soap Shop Rock. The band Boris has some very beautiful stuff, but you will have to sort it out from the noisey / punky / metaly stuff. Some of their awesome, subdued tunes are "Farewell" (off the album Pink), and the last three songs from the US version of "Smile" (the Japanese version is different and I am not as familiar with it): My Neighbor Satan, Ka Re Ha Te Ta Sa Ki -- No Ones Grieve, and You Were Holding an Umbrella. Brian Jonestown Massacre Methodrone album is very psychedelic and soothing. Deerhoof have some very psychedelic stuff as well.

Hope this was helpful. I just scrolled through my itunes library and mentioned anything I thought might have even the slightest bit of relevance. ;)

I second White Rabbit by Jefferson Airplane.

I listened to The Velvet Underground and Nico album front to back several times while tripping. Venus in Furs is a killer track.

Xzei, how do you feel about DJ Shadow? He's by far my favorite triphop artist.

I love DJ Shadow, but I think there are some better DJs out there. Have you heard of RJD2? He is one of my favorite DJs, probably the only one I like more than DJ Shadow.

Yea, I have the opposite view actually lol. For me Shadow is tops as far as that niche goes. There's other electronic artists I might like more. I dig RJD2, but Endtroducing is one of my favorite albums ever.
