My SIL who also is co-owner of our little baking business is doing a cupcake tower for my nephew's b-day party coming up, except of course it's going to go along with his party theme. She's doing four different types/flavors. I think she told me what kind, but at the time I was busy staining my backyard fence and didn't quite process everything like I should have. Haha! I almost did that (the cupcake tower thing) with the twins' b-day last month, but opted to make full two sized cakes instead. Although I'm thinking of doing a cupcake tower for my oldest son's 10th b-day in December, that is, if he wants one instead of a full-sized cake. Heck, it would make things easier on me, especially with it being so busy around that time of the month what with filling all the cookie orders we get and the regular Christmas prep, gift shopping, several other family b-days that I host, holiday concerts at school, etc. Busy, busy time of year. Cupcakes would literally be a piece of cake. Anyway, cupcake towers are all the rage right now.
I used to hate cake too. Actually, I take that back. There was one bakery, whom I still love, that made the only cake I actually liked. However, since I've gotten into the whole cake decorating myself, I've played around with a lot of recipes and experimented with a bunch of different fillings and frostings, and I must say, I've definitely grown to like cake a whole lot more than I once did. Still, if only I could get my hands on that particular bakery's cake and buttercream frosting recipe, oh my goodness. I'd be in heaven. You have no idea how many times I've tried to duplicate it with no success. It's like an obsession to me. *laughs* But anway, cake, it's still not my sweet of choice. I just like making them into edible art.
I don't like cake but I love cake art. Those cupcake towers look good though, I like some cupcakes I'm with mojo on this one though - too shweet. hippiechickmommy I really want to see pictures of your cakes
