They both were very familiar with the psychological and the physiological effects of LSD but yet they agreed that this particular substance should be spread to the masses. At first they worked in controlled medical environments and they administered doses on patients or subjects but then they took the drug themselves and their lives permanently changed for the better. Dr. Osmond's influence was not as great of that of Ken Kesey. Ken Kesey, Robert Hunter, and Jerry Garcia all took LSD and they articulated the same underlying and apparent truth. The genes and the body exists regardless of culture or interpretation. There's no way to interpret a physical cancer away just as we can all lead a real life that is so real that we can be as actual as a flower pedal or as the wind blows a sailboat across a calm lake and into the ocean. We can live a life where we learn to become so compassionate that the golden rule will appear on its own. Kesey and Osmond have changed our culture forever because they "let the cat out of the bag," and that cat has allowed many of us to WAKE UP and to shake out the nonsense from the brain so that all that is left is the real stuff--the heart based life; living from the heart and for the protection and preservation of the beautiful human beings. So many of us stay children and they never use the full adult brain with all its faculties. Let's legalize this wonderful substance and stop living in the dark ages. It's only been a little over 40 years since Kesey first started to orchestrate the massive public consumption of LSD. For the first time in history many people began to see through the fake lives and the artificial countries that they found themselves in. Almost everyone who takes it comes to a similar realization. We must have compassion and that we must remove all traces of war and poverty from the face of the earth. We also need to help to protect and preserve the earth. Also we must not be fake and we need to create art and music and moving pieces of writing so that we can continue to progress. Let's just keep on taking it further and further until we all can live wonderful, blissful lives of wealth and plenty...
I agree with you 100% man, well said. Actually presenting it in this manner seems to be the best way to describe it. Nice way with words. Though as much as I agree - the social stigma around psychedelic drugs would make it quite hard for anything to really change any time soon -- but I do believe the medical trials that are starting to appear may eventually lead to something great in the mainstream (and perhaps erase the stigma). Just wait and hope, I guess.
great stuff, but I think all life is real...some people may not be honest with themselves or others..but it's real nonetheless..
Hello Hawaiiankine, (and others) I believe that you're right that everything that human beings do is real but is it true? I would definitely say that MOST people go through their entire lives without being honest with themselves or with others. All of the money and the games and acts that so many of us put on have taken their toll to the point where even a kind-hearted, brilliant, and aware person like Obama can somehow support the preposterous notion that war is every the answer. It's never the answer in any situation. Diplomacy and the covert kidnapping of insane or harmful leaders and generals seems much more humane and logical. It's like an elementary teacher choosing to beat a child in front of the class instead of sending her to the principal's office. Instead, leaders like Bush or even Obama choose to not only beat one child in front of the class, they choose to murder thousands of "soldiers" who are actually just children who never grew up and have been given guns and are easy manipulated and ordered around. It's time for the children to grow up. It's like what Obama said in his inaugural address...I believe it was from the Bible which is "The time has come to set aside childish things." For most people LSD can help us to wake up and to put aside childish things like war, the attachment and reverence of money, yelling at our girlfriends and boyfriends over minor things, deforestation, urban sprawl, etc. Let's all get together and help the world grow up! And to have fun of course!
