I just got the fall/winter catalog and Im probably going to order some things, but I have never ordered clothing from them before, so what I want to know (from anyone who has ordered from them before) is if their fabrics and clothes & jewelry are cheaply made. Some of the stuff is pricey, and I dont want to waste my money if it is all cheaply made crap. So any thoughts from someone who knows about their stuff would be apprechiated. Thanks:)

Gypsy rose sells clothing and jewelry and other neat things like tapestrys and candles and tams........bohemian things.
You can google gypsy rose and go to the website.......the catalogs are free. And if Im not mistaken, their clothing is enviormentally friendly......I think, cant remember if that's totally true or not:)

I like Gypsy Rose a lot. I think they are pretty reasonable on prices, too.

I've ordered clothing (and patches, stickers, incense, etc...) from them before. One of the shirts was fine, but the other was of a gauzy material and ripped rather easily. I've had to repair the gauzy one several times.

You are right about the prices though - they are awesome!

    Love.

I love Gypsy Rose! I love getting the catalogs in the mail, it's always so exciting. They have alot of great thing's in there, but you are right some of the thing's are a bit pricey but for the most part they are worth their price considering most of the items are hand made, and alot of the thing's are also made in nepal and other parts of the world. They started out selling thing's in a small tent at dead shows and that's how they got to be known.

But as alot of other catalogs it's probably a better deal if you buy more thing's at once. You get a better deal, save on s/h and even get free gifts if your oders are over $50 or $100. But for the most part, I don't think you should have any problems with your orders and if you do, I'm sure they will have no problem whatsoever if you return the products for a full re-fund.
Good luck, and happy shopping :)

I love the Gypsy Rose catalogue too! I always drool over some of the stuff in there, but like someone said, I am afraid plunking down the money for that stuff only have it turn out to not be very good quality or something. I don't have a lot of moolah to spare. Most of the time I don't have ANY to spare.

I just love the look of their clothing too, but their tops seem to be way too big for me, and end up showing body parts that only my husband is supposed to see. :) Anyone else have this problem? Yes I also sew my own clothes, but I would hate to buy a $30 shirt and mess it up in altering it. Any ideas? Normally I just hae to stick to their wrap skirts and other bottoms.

in my experience with them the quality is fine, the only problem ive had with them is that when i get stuff thats 'colors may vary from catalogue' i end up getting the ugliest color combo ever. but thats the luck of the draw. its still nice clothing, i havent had any problems with it holding up.

lots of hippy-type shops wholesale from GR and if you troll the shops, you can check out quality.
Like all imports, the quality varies.
Guatemala fabric is always good and the embroidered Indian stuff is soft and light, but not as fragile as gauze.

Theres a physical Gypsy Rose store about an hour from my house (stores in Santa Cruz) I love to go in there and look at the different things. I bought a recycled silk scarf there last year and I really loved it, still do. It has huge pockets and It was only 30 bucks. To buy all that yarn in the store would've cost alot more than that scarf!
