We all have problems. I never got the attention/affection i needed/wanted as a kid but i dont threaten to kill myself to get that attention. I want people to notice me for who i am and the good, unique things i do. And I'm much happier now than i was when i tried desperate acts to get attention. Wish the little emos knew that. Well, at least the ones that feel like hurting themselves.
I used to have a "classing system". People who cut where you could see it were attention-seekers. People who cut were you couldn't see it where not, and were actually depressed. I realize that that's pretty bullshit. I mean, just because you want attention doesn't mean you're not depressed. If no-one knows you're a self harmer, and you don't reach out for help, how are you supposed to get it? I dunno. It depends on the individual. I don't like labels and I don't like stereotypes (even though I think they can be useful).
Yeah. When you want to hurt yourself i dont think you really care where you do it. Unless you're like me, i use to wanna kill myself but i only told close friends because i trusted them not to tell "authorities". I had a gun pointed to my head but chickened out. Than i started laughing cuz i wanted to die but was too much of a pussy to kill myself. Good times, good times. I think its sometimes ok to flirt with suicide.
The point is I WON'T listen to them, because I think they sound like prepubescent teenagers and just like every other band that tries so desperately to sound like they're whining when they're singing. Whiny music is fucking annoying, I don't care how deep the lyrics are, if it sounds like cats dying, I'm probably not going to listen to it. Also, labels are retarded anyway...when you get out of high school, the labels that matter are completely different...lol.
Emo people don't necessarily listen to MCR. They all listen to Death Cab For Cutie. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W7IxliAPjAk
Older people tend to think crazy stuff because of what they see on Oprah. Years ago, friend of my mom believed there was a gang called "The B Boys"... haha
